The mid-priced lens, indeed, focuses down to 22 cm -- and this is measured
from the sensor plane, located near the back of the camera. This is an
impressive close-focus (almost macro) performance: at the longest focal
length the distance between the subject and the lens front thread (not the
hood!) was just about 6.5 cm. The measured field of view was 65 mm across.
